The Crusaders played four games over the holiday period and freshman guard Emma Burns started three of them. Burns averaged 10.8 points over that span and had back-to-back double-digit scoring outputs on Dec. 29 and Jan. 5. Against Carnegie Mellon in the championship game of the Capital/Marriott Columbus Airport Holiday Tournament, Burns scored a career-best 16 points on 6-of-12 shooting, including 4-of-8 from beyond the arc. She also added five rebounds and an assist. Against Mount Union on Jan. 5, Burns shot 4-of-7 from the floor for 13 points with two assists and three steals. Burns recorded at least one steal in each of the three games she started and she had two blocks in the four games.
