AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – On Monday, May 18 the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) announced the complete 2015 Spring Academic All-OAC list. Thirty-five Capital University student-athletes earned academic all-conference honors by doing more than just excelling on their respective playing surfaces.

To qualify to be Academic All-OAC, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status on their respective team and maintain a grade point average of 3.50 or higher.

The Capital women’s track and field team led all Crusaders clubs with 11 members named to the academic all-conference squad. Five different teams qualified four members for Academic All-OAC honors. Of those 35 Crusaders, eight are recently graduated seniors.

Capital’s spring teams brought home two regular season championships via its men’s tennis and men’s lacrosse teams, the first for both programs. The men’s golf team finished runners-up in the OAC Championship tournament while the women finished fourth, overall. The women’s tennis and Softballball teams both advanced to their respective postseasons, as well.
