AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Capital University's football team put four new faces on this year's Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference list.
The award honors students that are sophomores or higher that maintains varsity status throughout the year while maintaining at least a 3.50 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
First-time recipients Cory Heeter (Circleville, Ohio), Derek Eibon (Amherst, Ohio), and Kris Lee (Piqua, Ohio) earned the honor in their first year of eligibility. Tyler Conner (Grove City, Ohio), a political science major, earned Academic All-OAC as a junior.
Heeter appeared in five games for Capital, totaling 23 carries for 161 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Eibon helped lead the way on the defensive side, ranking second on the team with 68 total tackles. Conner, who played on the defensive line, recorded a sack and served as an edge rusher.
