KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Before the 2019 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship tips off on Saturday, March 16 at 7 p.m., some of the country's best Division III players will face off in the 2019 Resse's ® Division III College All-Start Game at the Allen Country War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Ind. The rosters, chosen by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), include Capital University Men's Basketball's standout guard Austin Schreck.
Schreck, who was named First Team All-Great Lakes Region, First Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference, OAC Player of the Year and OAC Defensive Player of the Year, is one of the 20 senior athletes selected to participate in the game.
The two teams are composed of two seniors from each of the eight Division III regions, two seniors chosen via an online vote on D3hoops.com and two at-large selections.
The NABC will have a recap and box score of the game on its website, www.nabc.com, following the game's conclusion.
Schreck led the Crusaders with a career-high 489 points (16.9 ppg) in 2018-19 and tallied career bests in rebounds (181, 6.2 rpg), assists (84, 2.9 apg) and steals (39, 1.3 spg) while serving as a team captain. Schreck was one of only two OAC players to finish the season in the top 10 in the conference in points, rebounds and assists per game.
Schreck and the Crusaders advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2011-12 and won a share of the OAC's regular season title for the first time since 2012-13. Capital also cracked the D3hoop.com Top 25 for the first time since 2008-09 and remained in the poll for five weeks.
