AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Days after rewriting a portion of the Capital University Men's Golf record books, senior Logan Holbrook was named Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week by the conference office.
For the sixth time in his career, Logan Holbrook (Logan, Ohio/Logan) earned OAC Player of the Week laurels. The honor was achieved after he won the fourth tournament of his career and broke two program records.
Last weekend at the Beaver Fall Classic at the Bluffton Golf Club, Holbrook took top medalist honors after shooting a 142 over the two-day event. The senior held off Marietta's Gage Herb by two strokes to take the title.
In the opening round of the tournament, Holbrook shot out to a big lead after shooting a new single-round school record 67 on Saturday, September 22. He edged former teammate Mitch Cook by one stroke to claim the record. After the weekend concluded, his tournament final also served as a new Capital 36-hole low score breaking another former teammate's record (Daniel Schafer - 143, 2015).
Holbrook helped lead Capital leave day one of the tournament in first, and the Crusaders ended in second place on the team leaderboard just two strokes behind the tournament victor.
