AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Capital University senior Noah Iovino was honored with the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week award following his recent tournament victory.
Iovino, a native of Dublin, Ohio (Dublin Jerome), was named OAC Men's Golfer of the Week in response to his victory at the Cardinals Spring Classic, held at NorthStar Golf Club. The senior was a model of consistency, which paid off as weather became an added challenge during the final round of the two-day tournament.
Through 36 holes of play, Iovino shared first place with a total score of 149 (75-74). Despite sharing the top spot, the tournament was decided by a scorecard playoff which went to a fourth hole before Iovino emerged the victor. It served as the first collegiate tournament victory of his career.
Iovino now boasts an average 18-hole score of 76.81 on the season as he and the Crusaders head into its next action at the OAC Spring Classic on April 26-27.
