Men’s Soccer is Regionally Ranked

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University men's soccer team has received regional recognition. According to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), Capital is ranked 10th in the Great Lakes Region.

Capital, now 3-1 overall, is currently on a three-match winning streak. After suffering a defeat in the first game of the season, Cap has bounced back with three consecutive wins. In the second match of the Fred Myers Invitational, the Crusaders knocked off Hope College 2-0. Capital played the next two games at home. Cap defeated Finlandia University 3-0 and Wittenberg University 6-1.

The Crusaders are led by Cheyn Roux (Davidson, N.C.) with four goals and an assist. Jacob Pulliam (Westerville, Ohio/ Westerville North) is second on the team with three goals. Hunter Booth (Liberty Township, Ohio), Daniel Bundschuh (Cincinnati, Ohio), Trevor Collins (Powell, Ohio/ Olentangy Liberty), Colton Phillips (Bellbrook, Ohio), and Tyler Wujczyk (Beverly Hills, Mich.) have one goal each. Collins is second on the team with seven points and leads the team with five assists.

Three Ohio Athletic Conference teams have been ranked in the Top-10 of the Great Lakes Region. Ohio Northern University is ranked No. 2 and John Carroll University is ranked No. 9.

Denison University serves as Capital's next test on the road. The Crusaders and Big Red will play in Granville, Ohio, on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. They will return home this Saturday versus Waynesburg (Pa.) and is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
