Niswonger Hauls in OAC Player of the Week Award

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – The Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) announced its weekly player awards this afternoon. Capital University's Justin Niswonger was named the Men's Soccer Player of the Week honoree for the week of Sept. 26.

Niswonger, a Centerville, Ohio (Centerville) native, posted a pair of shutouts on the road as part of Capital's ongoing winning streak. Niswonger manned the cage at The College of Wooster and held the Fighting Scots scoreless while making three stops in a winning effort last Wednesday, Sept. 21. He returned to his spot between the posts against regionally-ranked Thomas More College (Ky.), and kept the cage clean with one save and helped organize a stifling defense that allowed just one shot on goal.

The junior has now posted three shutouts in his last four games and has not allowed a goal over the last 126:16 of play. He has four shutouts on the season, a 0.17 goals-against average, and a .933 save percentage to accompany a 6-0-3 overall record.
