GENEVA, Ohio – The second day of the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships took place on Friday with Capital Men's Track & Field's sophomore thrower Josh Miller competing in the shot put in the morning session.
On his first attempt of the day, Miller's throw traveled 15.53 meters (50-11 ½) and after his throw he sat in sixth place.
Miller (Botkins, Ohio/Botkins) than stepped up for his second attempt but fouled, giving him one more attempt to move onto the second round.
With his championship performance on the line, Miller launched his third throw 15.42 meters (50-07 ¼). With his first throw representing his best throw of the day, Miller finished 16th out of the 20 participants.
The rest of the championships will continue and conclude at SPIRE Institute on Saturday, May 25.
