WOOSTER, Ohio – Capital University Women's Golf placed eighth overall at this weekend's Eva Shorb Weiskopf Invitational. Capital showed great improvement between their day one and day two scores, and was led for the second week, in part, by Janie Moller.
Capital showed a 11-stroke improvement between their first and second rounds over the weekend. Much of that was seen in the team's top two scorers, junior Janie Moller (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington North) and sophomore Kaitlyn Kinley (Sycamore, Ohio). Kinley alone posted a day-two score 11 shots better than he first go around, finishing with a 101-90-191 scorecard.
By tournament's end, she and Moller finished for a share of 29th place overall and as top team placers. Moller also finished with a 191, and dropped her score from 99 to 92 between her first and second rounds.
The tournament was held at the par-72, 5,803-yard course at the Wooster Country Club.
Denison University (657) won the tournament and housed the top medalist in Annie Miller (159). Host College of Wooster (706) placed second overall. Capital wound up eighth out of nine teams with a team score of 799.
Capital will close up its fall season at the OAC Preview on Oct. 15-16. The tournament will be held at Green Rivers Golf Course in West Lafayette, Ohio.
