Cap Sits in Third Place After First Day of the OAC Championships

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio – The Capital University women's golf team traveled to the River Greens Golf Course for the 2017 Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament, hosted by the University of Mount Union. Katie Lease and Janie Moller led Cap with a first round score of 87 each, as the team sits in third place.

Junior Katie Lease (Hilliard, Ohio / Hilliard Davidson) is currently tied for eighth overall. Lease shot a round of 87.

Also tied with Lease is junior Janie Moller (Pickerington, Ohio / Pickerington North). Moller is also tied for eighth overall. Moller's round of 87 is good for a tie for the team lead.

Sophomore Katelynn Kinley (Sycamore, Ohio / Mohawk) finished third on the team with a first round score of 91.

In fourth place on the team, junior Christy Conley (Reynoldsburg, Ohio / Pickerington Central) shot a 98 for the first round of the OAC Tournament.

Rounding out the scores for Cap is freshman Alyssa Greening (Norton, Ohio / Norton), with a first round total of 105.

Mount Union currently leads the team standings with a total of 342. Otterbein University is in second place, just three shots behind, with a total of 345. Capital is in third with a team total of 363.

Ann Jobko from Otterbein currently sits atop of the leaderboard after shooting a 79. Mount Union's Erica Mawhorr is in second place with an 83. Ohio Northern University's Ariana Tomasula and Mount Union's Morgan Rector are tied for third place after both shot an 83.

The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, for the second round of the OAC Championships at the River Greens Golf Course.
