COLUMBUS, Ohio – In week two of the NCAA Division III regional rankings, the Mid-South Region went untouched leaving Capital University Women's Lacrosse in the seventh spot heading into the home stretch of the regular season.
Capital (10-4, 7-0 OAC) answered the call in its lone game last week by defeating Ohio Northern University, 16-3. It marked their seventh straight win in a row to tie the program mark for consecutive victories.
Denison University (12-3) continues to sit atop the regional rankings. The North Coast Athletic Conference now has three teams in the top-7, while Cap is one of two Ohio Athletic Conference teams that are ranked.
Two of Capital's losses this season come to teams ahead of them in the regional rankings, those being against third-ranked Rhodes College and fourth-ranked College of Wooster. Cap has one opponent remaining on the schedule also ahead of them in the rankings, that being the University of Mount Union, which is set for a showdown is Alliance in the regular season finale on Saturday, April 27.
A win over Mount Union would not only affirm the Crusaders as OAC regular season champions and the number one overall seed in the OAC Tournament but would cause a dramatic shakeup in next week's regional rankings. Game time between Capital and Mount Union is set for 1 p.m.
