COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University Women's Soccer team was involved in a high-scoring affair against Hanover College on Saturday afternoon.
It only took 20 seconds for the first goal to be scored as Claire Quinn (Coto de Caza, Calif.) dished the ball from the left side to Monique Hanayik (Sidney, Ohio) who put the ball into the left side of the goal for her third goal on the season.
The Panthers rebounded from surrendering the early goal in a big way, scoring three goals to close out the half, including back-to-back goals from senior forward Anna Cornacchione. Cornacchione was also involved in Hanover's third goal, assisting Elaine Simpson on a breakaway down the middle.
The Panthers put the game away for good after a goal from Shelby Adams was scored in the 69th minute.
The Crusaders took 20 shots, 10 of which were on goal. The Panthers also finished with 10 shots on goal, but only had 16 shots.
