COLUMBUS, Ohio – For 88 scoreless minutes in the rain at Purmort Field at Bernlohr Stadium, Capital University Women's Soccer and the John Carroll University Blue Streaks went back and forth looking for the goal that would send them to the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament Finals. Finally, in the 89th minute, that goal came for the Crusaders.

Capital (10-7-1, 7-2-0 OAC) had plenty of chances throughout the match but on an attack with fewer than two minutes left, the ball was sent into the box and glanced off the head of Carlee Murry (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Darby). Jordan Fike (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty) was right in the path off the missed header though and buried her shot into the back of the net to give Capital the 1-0 win.

In the match, the Crusaders outshot the Blue Streaks (11-6-2, 6-2-1 OAC) 25-9. Murry and Amy Burt (Piqua, Ohio/Piqua) led Capital with four shots each. Bailey Fischer led John Carroll with four shots.

Goalkeeper Kelly Bachmann (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville Community) made six saves in the shutout win. John Carroll's keeper, Rhianna Guarnera made 11 saves.

Capital earned 13 corners in the match but weren't able to convert on any because of the wet conditions. The Crusaders pushed the tempo all game, especially in the second half, and had long stretches of possession in John Carroll's end.

The Crusaders will now travel to Ohio Northern University on Saturday for the Final. That game will kick off at 2 p.m. in Ada, Ohio. The Polar Bears (16-1-2) defeated Otterbein University in penalty kicks on Wednesday.
