KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The United Soccer Coaches announced its Scholar All-North/Central Region teams on Monday and two members of Capital University Women's Soccer earned their places on the teams. Junior defender Allyssa Kimbler was named First Team Scholar All-North/Central Region while junior defender Maggie Peddicord was named to the second team.

Kimbler, a native of London, Ohio, was also named First Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference, Academic All-OAC and First Team All-Great Lakes Region for her play in the center of Capital's stingy defense. With Kimbler in the heart of the defense, the Crusaders allowed only 22 goals in 19 games, the third-fewest in the OAC. The junior also scored two goals in 2018.

A force in the midfield, Peddicord played a hand in Capital's defensive and offensive efforts. A native of Delaware, Ohio, Peddicord scored four goals and had five assists for 13 points. All of those were career-high marks and ranked fourth, first and second on the team. Peddicord was also named First Team All-OAC, Academic All-OAC and was Second Team All-Great Lakes Region.

To be eligible for a spot on United Soccer Coaches' Scholar All-Region teams, athletes must have a GPA of at least 3.30 and start at least half of their team's games while contributing to the team's successes.
