COLUMBUS, Ohio– Capital Women's Soccer dropped a 1-0 decision to John Carroll University Saturday evening at Bernlohr Stadium. With the loss, the Crusaders drop to 9-4-0 overall, 2-1-0 in the OAC, while the Blue Streaks improve to 7-3-2, 3-0-0 in conference play.

In the 9th minute of play, a foul was called against Capital resulting in a free kick for the Blue Streaks. John Carroll's Grace Monnin took the free kick at the 35-yard line, launching the ball over Kelly Bachmann for the game-winner.

Capital had quite a few chances, carrying the play the majority of the match. The Purple and White had 13 shots in the first half, compared to John Carroll's three. Sophomore's Cassidy Ryan (Westerville, Ohio) and Olivia Rotolo (Dublin, Ohio) had back-to-back shots on goal following John Carroll's point, hoping one would even up the score. The Crusaders had three other shots on frame, but none were buried.

In the second half, both the offense and defense put up a great fight. The Crusader offense kept the Blue Streaks on their toes, putting up 12 shots, four of which were on frame. The defense kept John Carroll from firing a single shot. Although the Crusaders controlled the play, they were unable to secure a goal.

The Crusaders will take on Marietta College, Wednesday, October 16 at home. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
