NEW CONCORD, Ohio – As most of Capital University Track & Field finished the Muskingum Invitational on Saturday, sophomore Emily Hilt came back to the course on Sunday to finish up the All-Ohio Multi Championships.
On Saturday, Hilt (Delaware, Ohio/Buckeye Valley) placed first in two of the completed events, the 100-meter hurdles and the high jump. In the hurdles, Hilt earned 640 points with a time of 16.62 seconds, almost half a second faster than the second-place finisher. Hilt and two others tied for first in the high jump with marks of 1.58 meters and all three earned 712 points.
In the shot put, Hilt's best throw of 8.66 meters earned her 442 points for a sixth-place finish. Hilt's ninth-place finish in the 200-meter dash garnered 516 points.
A fifth-place finish in the long jump earned her 503 points and her fourth-place throw of 25.13 meters in the javelin garnered her 385.
Hilt placed fourth in the 800-meter dash with a time of 2:44.48 which yielded 516 points.
In all, Hilt earned 3,721 points, about 150 points behind overall winner Courtney Brown of Tiffin University.
