Women’s Track & Field Picked to Finish Seventh in Outdoor OAC Poll

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – The Ohio Athletic Conference's women's track & field coaches released the results of their annual preseason poll on Friday morning with Capital University Women's Track & Field picked to finish seventh. The Crusaders garnered 33 total points.

At the OAC Indoor Championships in February, Capital finished sixth.

The Otterbein University Cardinals were picked to finish first in the conference with 80 total points and seven of the 10 first-place votes. The University of Mount Union received the remaining three first-place votes and earned a total of 76 points in second. John Carroll's 64 points placed the Blue Streaks solidly in third.

Baldwin Wallace University and Ohio Northern University came in at fourth and fifth, respectively, with 55 and 52 points. Heidelberg University narrowly edged out Capital in sixth with 34 points. Marietta College was picked to finish eighth with 30 points.

Bringing up the rear are Muskingum University with 16 points in ninth and Wilmington College with 10 points.

Juniors Taylor Manivanh (Grove City, Ohio/Central Crossing) and Emily Hilt (Delaware, Ohio/Buckeye Valley) represent Capital's top performers through the indoor season and will be counted on again to earn points in each meet for the Crusaders. Capital's outdoor season will commence on Friday, March 22 at the Pioneer Invitational hosted by Transylvania University (Ky.). The two-day meet will conclude on Saturday, March 23.
