WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Capital University Women's Track & Field braved the elements on Saturday at Otterbein University's annual April Fools Invitational and amassed 20 points to finish 11th out of 16 teams.
In the triple jump, Taylor Manivanh achieved Capital's top finish of the day by placing second. On her sixth attempt of the day, Manivanh traveled 10.72 meters, surpassing the mark of 10.70 meters she posted on her fifth try.
Capital picked up a pair of third-place finishes in the hammer throw and long jump. Kassie Lee set a new outdoor personal record and program record in the hammer with a heave of 45.55 meters. Junior Emily Hilt's leap of 4.83 meters in the long jump also earned her third and was just short of her personal best in the event.
Hilt also placed ninth in the javelin throw (22.93 meters and Lee finished 11th in the shot put (10.61 meters).
On the track, Katherine Lowe achieved Capital highest place, a 10th-place result of 2:31.76 in the 800-meter run.
The Crusaders will be back in action next Saturday, April 6 at Muskingum University for the Musky Invitational and All-Ohio Multi Championships.
