COLUMBUS – The Capital University volleyball team was defeated, 3-0, by Muskingum in an Ohio Athletic Conference match on Tuesday evening at the Capital Center.
Capital (8-16 overall, 0-3 OAC) dropped its third straight match in conference to begin the season, falling 25-18, 25-18, and 25-20 in three sets against the Fighting Muskies.
Ewart tallied three block assists and a pair of solo blocks, while McCracken checked in with 17 digs.
Classmate Mona Ratliff (South Charleston, Ohio) followed with six kills of her own and zero errors, while also compiling four block assists.
Senior Kelly Leonard (Cincinnati, Ohio) totaled a match-high 22 digs, while also tying a match-high with three service aces.
Sophomore Katie Weilbacher (Grove City, Ohio) paced Capital with 16 assists to go along with a trio of kills and digs. A total of seven Capital players registered two or more digs in the home defeat.
With the loss, the Crusaders are scheduled to travel to Wilmington for their next OAC matchup on Oct. 14. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. in Wilmington, Ohio.
