Capital Women’s Cross Country Runs in the Jenna Strong Fall Classic

WILMINGTON, Ohio – In the final meet before the conference championships, members of Capital University Women's Cross Country ran in the Jenna Strong Fall Classic hosted by Wilmington College on Friday.

Crossing the finish line first for the Crusaders in 15th place overall was senior Hannah Westhoven (Napoleon, Ohio/Napoleon) with a time of 19:24.7

Placing second on the Capital team and 33rd overall with a time of 19:59.2 was junior Mackenzie Meyers (Teays Valley, Ohio/Teays Valley).

In third for the Purple and White was sophomore Rachel Rus (Highland Heights, Ohio/Mayfield), stopping the clock at 21:22.7.

Just a few seconds behind Rus was junior Larkin Joseph (New Philadelphia, Ohio/New Philadelphia) with a time of 21:59.3.

Freshman Alaina Miller (Baltimore, Ohio/Liberty Union Thurston) finished next for Capital with a time of 22:27.3.

Completing the 5K course in 25:14.0 was freshman Allie Rus (Highland Heights, Ohio/Mayfield).

Capital finished in 11th out of 32 teams with 373 points (15-32-89-116-121).

The Capital runners will hit the course again on Oct. 28 in the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Heidelberg University.
