Cap Women’s Cross Country Competes at OAC Championship Meet

HARTVILLE, Ohio – Capital University Women's Cross Country took the course at the Sable Creek Golf Club in Hartville, Ohio for the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship, hosted by the University of Mount Union. The Crusaders ran their hardest through the elements and finished in ninth place.

Senior runner Mackenzie Meyers paced the Capital group and finished in 41st place with a time of 25:31.1.

The second Crusader to complete the 6,000-meter course was Kayleigh Noecker, a freshman, in 99th place. Noecker finished her run in 28:42.8, just seconds off of her personal best for a 6K.

The remaining three Capital runners all finished within four places of each other with Emily Hilt leading the trio. Competing in her first race since Sept. 8, Hilt stopped the clock at 30:14.2 in 110th. Lynna Freeman followed Hilt across the line one place behind and six seconds after her teammate at 30:20.2. Alaina Miller rounded out the Capital team two spots behind Freeman with a time of 31:19.3.

The Crusaders placed ninth overall with a team score of 268. Otterbein University won the meet with a score of 59 and Otterbein runner Claire Lamb won the individual title.

The Crusaders will now have two weeks to prepare for the Great Lakes NCAA Regional Championships hosted by Franklin College on Saturday, Nov. 10.
