COLUMBUS, Ohio – Capital University Men's and Women's Cross Country and Head Coach Hannah Weiss have announced its schedule for the 2019 season. The Purple and White will kick the season off on August 30 and have seven meets slated for the upcoming fall.
Capital will open the season with the first of two trips to Wilmington College. On August 30, the Crusaders will compete in the Quaker Six Team Opener and will return to the Quakers' campus in mid-October for the Jenna Strong Invitational.
The Crusaders will then head out of the state the following for the Bethany Invitational on September 7. Cap's closest meet will follow a bye week. Following a one-week hiatus, Cap will compete at the Cougar Invitational (9/21), hosted by Columbus State Community College at its Delaware campus.
The largest field of competitors awaits at the All-Ohio Championships, which will be held at Cedarville University on September 28. The Jenna Strong Invitational (10/11) will serve as the last regular season meet prior to the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships, which will be hosted by John Carroll University. The championship meet will tentatively be held at Gilmour Academy in Gates Mills, Ohio.
Calvin College (Mich.) will serve as the host for the 2019 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championships on November 16, with the national championship following the next week in Louisville, Ky.
The men's and women's cross country teams finished ninth out of nine teams at the 2018 OAC Championships. Coach Weiss will enter her fifth season at the helm of both programs.
