COLUMBUS, Ohio – Capital University Men's Track & Field hosted the annual Jessica Starks open in The Capital Center Fieldhouse on Saturday and placed 11th out of 18 teams with 19 points.
In his first meet of the season, sophomore thrower Josh Miller earned the most points of any Crusader in their respective events with a second-place mark in the shot put. On his final throw of the day, Miller achieved a mark of 15.59 meters to garner eight points.
After winning the high jump in each of Capital's first two meets, senior John Seman tied three other jumpers after clearing 1.85 meters on his third and final attempt at that height to place sixth based on number of attempts.
In the men's long jump, sophomore Noah Meeker's mark of 6.17 meters was good enough for a seventh-place finish. Meeker also placed seventh in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.51 seconds and was 16th in the 60-meter dash.
The Crusaders will be back in action next weekend at Ohio Northern University to compete in the Joe Banks Invitational.
