ADA, Ohio – Capital University Men's Track & Field was back in action on Saturday at the annual Joe Banks Invitational hosted by Ohio Northern University and placed sixth with 52 points.
Following his second-place finish last week, sophomore thrower Josh Miller won the shot put with a personal-record throw of 16.09 meters, the third-best indoor throw in program history. Miller then added to his day with another PR, this time in the weight throw. His top mark of the day was 13.53 meters, 0.02 meters better than his previous best.
Sophomore Noah Meeker continued to be a valuable athlete for the Crusaders by placing fifth in the 60-meter dash, fifth in the long jump and was part of the 4x200-meter relay team that placed third.
In his first event of the season, freshman Joseph Eskra placed fourth in the pole vault by clearing 3.85 meters.
Senior John Seman and freshman Thomas Bruning each cleared 1.73 meters in the high jump to tie for fourth in the event.
The Crusaders will compete in the All-Ohio Indoor Championships next weekend on Saturday, Feb. 9 at Otterbein University.
