Capital Plagued By Rain at All-Ohio Championship

CEDARVILLE, Ohio – On a rainy Friday afternoon, the Capital University men's cross country team sent out their top five runners to take on their toughest field of the year at the All-Ohio Championship. Capital faced 40 teams from the Division I, II, III and NAIA. The Capital group beat out the other Division III teams Heidelberg and Muskingum University landing them a 14th place team standing.

Junior Derek Knabe (Cincinnati, Ohio) has been a consistent leader for Capital this year guiding his team across the finish line in 28:16.8.  He placed 57th among the Division III field of competitors.

Senior Andrew Stroh (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) and freshman Tim Trentel (Lakewood, Ohio) respectively clocked in next at 29:05.6 and 29:06.0.  

Junior Aaron Fox (Commercial Point, Ohio) was the next runner across the line in a time of 29:22.5.

Freshman Austin Myers (Upper Sandusky, Ohio) rounded up the top of the Capital group in 31:28.6.

The first place team in Division III was Mount Union University (60) taking back their reign as first in team standings, beating out last year's winner, Ohio Northern University (67). Capital (395) placed 14th out of 16 Division III teams.
