Capital Men’s Cross Country Competes in OAC Championships

TIFFIN, Ohio – On a wet and cold Saturday at Heidelberg University, Capital University Men's Cross Country competed in the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships and placed seventh out of nine teams with 227 points.

The first Crusader to complete the 8k course was senior Calvin Lortie (Mount Vernon, Ohio/Mount Vernon) with a time of 26:46.5, good for 31st place overall. This was Lortie's fastest 8k time of the season.

Finishing just behind Lortie in 36th place was fellow senior Derek Knabe (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) with a time of 26:56.8.

Junior Aaron Fox (Commercial Point, Ohio/Teays Valley) crossed the line after 27:44.0 on the course in 65th place overall and third on the Capital team.

Quinton Napier (Columbus, Ohio/Hamilton Township) stopped the clock at 30:05.9 in 120th overall and fourth on the team.

Nathan Hutchins (Toledo, Ohio/Maumee) and Andrew Rus (Mayfield, Ohio/Mayfield) finished in 125th and 128th, respectively, with times of 30:20.6 and 30:34.8.

The final Crusader to cross the finish line was freshman James Kisner (Milford, Ohio/Amelia) with a time of 32:43.9.

The team will compete in the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championship hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University on Nov. 11.
