AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – LeAnna Cotton (Okeechobee, Fla.) had a lot to do with the wins the Capital softball team earned last week and she has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Capital's leading home run hitter connected with the ball on 10 occasions, resulting in 21 collected bases and seven extra base hits (5 doubles, 2 HR).
Cotton was also instrumental in Capital's high-scoring efforts last week with 10 RBIs.
Her best performance came against conference rival Otterbein Univesity, in which she went recorded six RBIs after going 3-for-3 at the plate. The Crusaders defeated the Cardinals 13-0.
The Crusaders return to Clowson Field on Wednesday, April 8 with a doubleheader against Heidelberg University at 3 p.m.
