Swain Named OAC Hitter of the Week

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Kelsey Swain (Pickerington, Ohio) helped the Crusaders to three wins last week, on her way to being name Ohio Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week.

Swain, one of Capital's fastest players, went 5-for-5 in stolen bases over the week. She had 23 at bats, tallying 15 hits, 10 runs, and five RBIs. Her performance at the plate resulted in a .652 batting average in the six games Capital played.

The senior outfielder became Capital's leader in runs scored and triples this season. She hit three triples last week.

Swain has been a constant threat to score during her time as a Crusader as she has moved into second on the all-time list of career runs scored.

On senior day against Ohio Northern University, Swain went 4-for-4 at the plate with three runs and a RBI.

The Crusaders begin OAC Tournament action against Ohio Northern University on Friday, May 1. The tournament will be hosted at Frann's Field on the campus of Heidelberg University.
