AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – The Ohio Athletic Conference has announced its softball postseason performance award winners and two Capital University student-athletes have made the list. Chevonne Hayslett and Alyx Slusher have been named All-OAC following their standout seasons for Capital Softball.
Senior C/P Chevonne Hayslett (Miamisburg, Ohio/Miamisburg) was named Second Team All-OAC following her best season as a Crusader. This season Hayslett hit five home runs, ranking her sixth in the OAC. She finished the year with career highs in batting average (.320), runs batted in (21), total bases (63), extra-base hits (14), and runs scored (11) through 40 games played. Behind the plate, she caught nine runners attempting to steal and has a fielding percentage of .981. She also served as Cap's number two pitcher and doubles her win total from a year ago.
Sophomore 1B Alyx Slusher (Rockford, Ohio/Parkway) ranks in the OAC's top-10 in multiple categories including hits (46, 10th), total bases (71, 10th), walks drawn (24, 1st), on-base percentage (.497, 2nd), and slugging percentage (.602, 10th). Slusher also ranked fifth in put outs (221) and committed just one error to feed a .996 fielding percentage. She was named All-OAC honorable mention for her numbers this season.
