COLUMBUS, Ohio – Capital University`s women's track and field team wrapped up their indoor season, Friday afternoon. The Crusaders finished in first place in the Jessica Starks Qualifier with many personal records, and season bests having been toppled.
Freshman Larkin Joseph (New Philadelphia, Ohio) had an amazing meet with a first-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:02.00. She added a second-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.63.
The one mile was dominated by freshman Samantha Koester (Grandview Heights, Ohio) with a season-best time of 5:48.32.
Freshman Aislynn Brant (Dayton, Ohio) is a fresh face to the distance group and won the 3,000-meter run with a time of 12:36.39.
Sophomore Chelsea Carpenter (Cincinnati, Ohio) took third in shot put with a personal best throw of 12.19 meters (39-9).
Junior Ashley Freshkorn (Columbus, Ohio / Hamilton Township) took first in weight throw with a season-best throw of 15.20 meters (49-8), just shy of her personal best.
The next time you can catch the Crusaders will be at the first outdoor competition at the Emory Invite meet hosted at the Woodruff P.E. Center Track (Atlanta, Ga.) on Friday, March. 18.
